A Philosophy of Sustainability

Terranea’s 102-acre slice of the Palos Verdes Peninsula is celebrated not only for its natural beauty, but also for the resort’s reverence for its location. As one of many methods to minimize its footprint, the development was built using land and materials recycled from pre-existing structures. The resort itself occupies just one-quarter of its total land, ensuring both wildlife and guests have room to roam. Other eco-friendly practices include improving wildlife habitats, enhancing local water quality, and enhancing food-waste recycling.
