Michael Shannon serves as CoralTree Hospitality’s Global Sales Director for the Northeast. In this role, he promotes group business to CoralTree’s diverse collection of hotels across the United States, while supporting hotel partners with market intelligence, sales strategies, and collaboration to create exceptional guest experiences.
Michael, a graduate of the University of Denver’s School of Hotel & Restaurant Management, brings over 30 years of hospitality experience, including leadership roles in operations and sales with MGM Resorts, Destination Canada, Westin Hotels, and the Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau. He spent more than 15 years on the intermediary side of meeting and event logistics, specializing in planning, sourcing, and delivering exceptional programs. A recognized industry thought leader, Michael has held leadership roles in professional associations and delivered keynote talks on topics such as negotiation skills, everyday ethics, and work-life integration. He also mentors future hospitality leaders as an adjunct instructor, teaching event management and production at Raritan Valley Community College.

An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys golfing, kayaking, cycling, and hiking. He’s also a self-proclaimed crockpot-aholic, constantly experimenting with creative new dishes.
