Shaun Beucler, Senior Vice President of Operations

Favorite Pillar/Value: Empowerment

As senior vice president of operations, Shaun Beucler provides operations support and service focus to all CoralTree Hospitality properties, with oversight of food and beverage, rooms, and spa operations. He also oversees creative concepting, design and financial proformas within the development team while handling multi-property GM reporting responsibilities and owner relationships. In addition, he leads transitions team and new builds to successful openings.

But all of that has been years in the making—many years, in fact, going back to an eight-year-old kid covered in flour in a New Jersey kitchen. Beucler’s passion for food started young. “I discovered I loved cooking and baking with my grandmother, especially learning to make traditional and holiday meals,” he says. Throughout middle and high school, he took culinary classes and eventually landed a job at a local bakery in New Jersey (he remembers baking his very first wedding cake: “It was stressful.”) After logging countless hours at the bakery and soaking up everything he could learn, he went on to earn scholarships and enroll in the famed Culinary Institute of America in New York.

Beucler joined The Ritz-Carlton after his schooling and worked his way up through food and beverage roles—and finally hotel manager—at the company’s properties in Naples, St. Louis, Dove Mountain and Rancho Mirage. One of his most cherished achievements and career highlights was at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples Beach Resort, where he was named Leader of the Year within the vanguard company.

After 14 years with Ritz-Carlton, Beucler accepted the general manager position at L’Auberge Del Mar, which was a life-changing moment for him both personally and professionally. “My wife and I had our son during my time there and we were all truly embraced from day one,” he says. “By year two, the amazing team there achieved thier best ever financial performance and service scores, culminating in winning Resort of the Year honors.”

He took his operations and management know-how to the next level as corporate director of operations for Two Roads Hospitality in 2016 before joining CoralTree.

Beucler is based in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, a mountain-town playground known for its outdoor lifestyle. Beucler is an avid outdoorsman, and loves roadtripping with his wife and son to Sunriver Resort in Oregon, where they hit the bike trails and raft down the Deschutes River.

Ultimately, Beucler believes that real guest engagement comes from creating memories through enlivening one’s senses, especially in nature. Whether through an exhilarating hike, a paddle boarding excursion or an unforgettable meal, Beucler helps deliver these localized experiences to CoralTree guests, connecting people to places.
