Combining his passion for culinary arts, travel and outdoor adventures into common ground that connects him with others and a career is why John Drugan genuinely loves his job. He learned that the best hospitality experiences are created by the most connected teams while finishing his degree at Johnston and Wales University and simultaneously opening Emeril’s Restaurant in Miami Beach. The camaraderie and reliance on fellow team members paved their path to excellence and forged bonds that have persisted even as their careers have taken them in different directions.
Transcendent bonds have colored all aspects John’s life, and his most meaningful trip remains visiting his wife to meet her family in the Czech Republic. He relished days in the small village where she spent her childhood summers, getting to know her grandparents, picking fresh fruit and vegetables in their yard, and enjoying the local distilleries.
When the opportunity arose to open The Eddy Taproom & Hotel in Colorado, John couldn’t resist the challenge, even in the face of a growing pandemic. His team’s focus and a culture of empowerment led the property to exceed financial and guest satisfaction metrics from the day they opened. And while he’s proud of the property’s success, it’s the camaraderie with his team and daily opportunities to connect with guests about their own memorable experiences that keep him coming back for more.
As Regional Director of Operations, Openings & Transitions, John will share his passion for hospitality with new properties as they join the CoralTree Collection as well as work directly with The Eddy Taproom & Hotel, Galleria Park Hotel and Claridge House.
