Mike Everett, Executive Vice President

Mike Everett has joined Coral Tree Hospitality as the Executive Vice President responsible for Business Development, Design & Development Services, Openings & Transitions, Information Technology, Engineering & Security, and Sustainability functions. From 2018-2023, Mike served as the President of NuovoRE, where he focused on complex historic adaptive reuse projects. During his tenure, his team successfully developed independently positioned hotels known for their exceptional design and programming. Mike's leadership also helped establish NuovoRE as a social impact investor, pioneering innovative ways of doing business that benefited guests, employees, vendors, and community stakeholders.

Prior to that, from 2012 to 2018, Mike held the position of Chief Investment Officer at Sage Hospitality, leading the growth functions in development, acquisition, and third-party management. Sage Hospitality invested over $1 billion in projects such as Dairy Block, Perry Lane Hotel, Halcyon, and Denver Union Station. From 2003 to 2012, Mike worked for Destination Hotels & Resorts and Lowe Hospitality group, progressively moving up to the role of Senior Vice President of Business Development. During his time there, the company successfully completed complex hotel and resort acquisitions and significantly expanded its third-party management business.

Mike's career in the hospitality industry began at Sage Hospitality in 1999 after completing his degree at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration. He has served on the boards of Collective Retreats, New Waterloo, and Goodwill of Colorado. He is a member of the ULI Hotel Development Council, a past member of the AHLA Investment Roundtable, and a founding board member of the Marriott Sorenson Center for Hospitality Leadership at Howard University. He also supports Mayor Mike Johnston's task force focused on eradicating homelessness in Denver.

Mike finds immense joy and fulfillment as a father to his three daughters, Ginger (16), Rose (15), and Alice (9). Family plays a vital role in his life, and he enjoys engaging in activities with his daughters during his leisure time. Mike is an avid sports enthusiast, having competed in road cycling, and now participating in activities like running, rucking, and half Ironman relays (bike leg) scheduled for 2024. He also has a creative side and enjoys playing the guitar, showcasing his multifaceted personality beyond his professional achievements.
